Falling is one of my series of works that I call “Organica”. Paintings in this series primarily reflect my contemplation of colour, combining at first with a freedom of gesture. Then as the organic and semi-abstract images emerges, I work from impulse to complete the painting. I hope each resulting work is energetic and free, unselfconscious. Sometimes, painting an abstract work, I feel moved to paint an eye into the picture. For this reference my own eye, usually, although not necessarily true as to the colour. For this work, I painted ete eye and then the lips appeared to me. In their upside-down positions, the eye and lips here seem to represent confusion of accident or inner turmoil, and so it is called “Falling”.
