Ice Nine by

Ice-nine comes out of Cat’s Cradle, Kurt Vonnegut’s cautionary tale that explores, among other things, out of control technology. Ice-nine is a formulation of water that is solid at room temperature; a drop of ice-nine added to liquid water acts as a seed-crystal, instantly turning the liquid into solid ice. What could go wrong?
