Fish Creek Series 2 by

Like all of us, I found myself locked down with my family on March 16, 2020. I knew I have been presented with a unique opportunity to be creative. My home is very close to Fish Creek Provincial Park, and has always figured heavily in our daily lives. During lockdown, the park was deserted early in the morning when I would take walks for exercise, fresh air and meditation. The winter’s snow was just beginning to melt as spring approached. I decided to document my impressions while walking. I created a series of twenty-five small landscapes during the weeks in April and May. Contextually, these paintings are reflections on nature and this global pandemic we all find ourselves in. It was reassuring for me to know that although humans receded into the background, nature went about its business beautiful.

Series of four paintings, each painting is 8″ x 12″
