Exploring Rocky Mountain Top by

This painting is a good illustration of how my artwork often develops into new concepts. The abstract idea came to me after completing several paintings of the Rocky Mountains. Those paintings evolved from sketches completed on site (compared to working from photographs). Once I had the initial idea to create an abstract I went back to the basics and sketched a composition using the basic elements offline, and shape. The colour choices are ones I’ve used before and thought it worked well to bring some life into the mountain top.
