Apprehension by

Painted after a six month apprenticeship under a potter in Northern Saskatchewan, this piece was inspired by my experience visiting and photographing a herd of cattle on a nearby ranch. For those who understand and have worked with cattle, these animals have a remarkable nature… they are especially inquisitive, but not without¬†apprehension.¬†It was this particular animal that captured this in her gaze, which by recognizing the viewer places them in the context of the painting and within the dynamic of this human: nature relation.
