ArtMatch often works with interior designers who have clients that want to own original art and also want to support local artists. For this project, DWK Interiors approached us to assist with art selection for a large refurbishing project in their client’s home. They restyled all the window coverings and added new furniture and accessories to update the house. Their client, the home owner, knew what kind of art he liked so along with the designer, a few selections were made from the ArtMatch website.

Vandy also offered assistance by making some recommendations after looking at photos and dimensions of the space, and then provided high-resolution photos of the paintings for the designer to take a closer look. After the final selections were made, ArtMatch delivered the paintings to the client’s home for a trial. The painting they chose for the bedroom fit perfectly above the bed so Vandy assisted with hanging it up on the spot. The dining room painting was also great but it required a frame to tie in with the existing wood in the room, so Vandy took it to her wholesale framer. The stairway painting was stunning but the client wanted a larger version, we commissioned ArtMatch artist Patrick Markle to recreate the painting to the client’s vision (over 6 feet tall!).

Once complete, the commissioned painting was also taken for framing and both framed paintings were delivered to the happy client. All this was done without the need to go shopping in galleries and arranging for framing, but working with the convenience of a personal consultant and perusing a web-based gallery. What a great way to have customized art and support our local artists at the same time!
