Frances Marina Vettergreen is a visual artist who lives and works in Calgary, Alberta. Her main body of work consists of paintings in oil and cold wax exploring the human experience of the natural world. She also works from observation: plein air landscapes in watercolour and drawing media, and still life paintings in oil and cold wax. Frances earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from the University of Alberta in 1986 and was the winner of the Florence Andison Friedman Award for Painting in her senior year. She has exhibited across Canada and her work is represented in public and private collections internationally.
