I am self-taught which generally means that I really do not follow too many rules. My subject matter is geared towards landscapes and heritage ideas in both the natural and urban setting. Rusted out old cars in a prairie setting have so much meaning and potential as subject matter that remind us of the past and that life has a time span for everything. I like to paint landscapes in a night time setting because the shapes aren’t clearly defined so you can paint what you personally see. Sunrises and dusk compositions allow you to paint with vibrant colours and if you look at my paintings, the colours are very vibrant.
Acrylic on canvas is my preferred choice of materials because they dry quickly and allow for the kind of details that is prevalent in my work.
